Product Description
Designed and handmade in Québec, IKUKO softens our practice, preserving freedom of movement and the benefits of a really good ergonomic chair. Used as an alternative to a standardized cross-legged position, our Seiza stool IKUKO may also be enjoyed in activities such as eating at a low table, working, reading, playing with kids, etc.
IKUKO BASIC is a more affordable version of the iconic IKUKO Original; offering the same postural benefits but with less versatility since it cannot be disassembled; bag included for the Original but not the Basic.

Best practice using the bench:
Make sure to use the bench on a flat surface and seat both legs on the floor. Do not create a cantilever putting all you weight on one leg, falling on one side or put to much pressure on one leg can result on braking the leg or it’s wood attachment. Always best to adjust yourself if needed by releasing pressure on the seat then adjust it with your hand. Do not stay seated on the bench sliding right-left-left-right to adjust yourself, this may result on braking a leg or its attachment.
Our bench is made for seating in kneeling position, do not seat cross-legged or it may result on braking a leg or its attachment.

A piece of art that has utility
It’s obviously sold as a meditation stool and that’s the use to which I put it. When not in use, it sits as a work of sculpture in the room. Exquisite workmanship. I like it so much, I’ve bought a second, fold up version, for travel.Having never used one of these stools, I took a chance that, at almost 75 yrs of age, I’d be able to cope. And not only can I cope, this stool molds one’s body into the correct posture.Oh, did I say I love it?And, no, I have no relationship of any kind, to the vendor company.

The most functional Meditation Bench in the Market
I was really skeptical about this bench. i spent a few months contemplating on purchasing it,and i am very happy that i did. it is so very comfortable. It keeps your back erected naturally without force. my legs were a bit stiff in the beginning but after using the bench for about a week straight my muscles began to relax and they became more aligned to the formation of the bench. If you have doubts on buying this item, please don’t. Its a great product and the quality is out of this world. The only thing that i can tell you is to do your home work and correctly choose the RIGHT SIZE for YOU height 🙂 If you don’t then you will definitely not have good things to say about this amazing product.

A solid and comfortable bench
After many years practicing meditation on a tradional zafu cushion, I am now at an age when hips and knees are stiff. I have never been at ease on a bench, but this one is different. Although it is intended for a kneeling position, I use it in a sitting position with the legs crossed and the knees resting on small cushions. Due to its curved and inclined seat, the bench is as comfortable as a cushion. After several months of use, it is still my regular support for meditation and will probably remain so for some years to come.

This is the most spectacular wooden chairs I have ever sat in. It took me several weeks to become comfortable sitting in this particular position because I am consistently sitting in comfortable cushioned seats all day long. Those seats are horrible for my posture and spine while this chair aligns my spine and makes me feel energized and comfortable. It took a bit of time to get used to but once I was, it become tremendously comfortable and rewarding for my entire body. This was a gift to s person who was contemplating meditation. One dive prior to arrival, this recipient told me he had no further interest in meditation as just the thought of it exhausted him. Upon its arrival he assembled it and sat on it. He warned me he loves it. It comforts his lower back and he sits on it at least 30 minutes a day quieting his lower back pain and his mind. Who says you can lead a horse to water but you can’t make it drink.

The finish is as described and there is just enough cushion for me. I am 4’11” and this is just high enough for me to sit cross legged yet keep weight off my ankles. I LOVE IT! No harsh chemical smell and it came already assembled. My kids have also used it and swear by its maneuverability across the wood floors 😊 Note: Anyone of a larger build might find the diameter and height of the seat a bit small for extended use.
